Benefits of Wespine Blue for the Architect / Designer / Building Surveyor
High Affordability
Now Architects and Designers can design an affordable termite and European House
Borer protected wall and roof framing for their clients. Wespine Blue pine framing allows greater flexibility in the design and changes to that design right up to the construction time with little effect on the construction time or finished quality.
Peace of Mind
Not only will the Architects and Designers have peace of mind that their designed wall
and roof framing will be protected from termite and borer destruction but will be able to provide
their clients with the same peace of mind. This means that even if termites or borers do get
into the home, the potential for them to do serious damage is very limited.
Guarantee
The transferable 25 year conditional guarantee on protection of treated framing timber against termites and European House Borers ensures that the Builder is covered for the long term. Builders can recommend Wespine Blue treated framing to their clients and be confident that they will not have call backs for termite or borer damage to the treated structural timber (see guarantee form for conditions). This will also help Builders differentiate their projects by promoting the additional
value of termite and borer protected construction to their clients.
Traceability
The treatment is a uniquely identifiable formulation, evidenced on the timber by the
brand - "H2F" and a date stamp. To claim on the guarantee the home owner simply
need contact Wespine or Osmose to establish a claim.

Health and Safety
Wespine Blue has been approved by the government regulator, state timber marketing acts and
Austarlian standards for its use as a termite and borer resistant material.
This approval includes safety when used as intended. Precautions include using simple protective
measures that should be used when handling and using timber based materials.
Design and Compatibility
Design and construction of the project is by the same method as untreated framing timber.
Wespine Blue treatment does not cause problems for other trades or building components
such as fastener corrosion, plasterboard adhesion or painting.
Waste Disposal
Wespine Blue treated timber wastes and off cuts do not require special handling and can be disposed of with normal untreated timber and building wastes.
Sizes Availability
As major timber producers and distributors discover how easy and cost effective it is to
offer Wespine Blue treated framing timber, Builders will find that sourcing
treated framing timber is easy and fast. Wespine Blue will gradually replace the existing range of H2 treated framing. Due
to industry requests an increased range of Wespine Blue will be available, refer
to 'Size Availability' for the exact range.
Durability in Construction
Service conditions for Wespine Blue treated softwood framing are internal,
above ground, dry, and potentially subject to attack by termites or borers south of the Tropic of Capricorn
in Australia. In addition to these standard service conditions, building timber may be subject to temporary
weathering for a maximum period of up to 3 months while material is in storage and the frame is in
construction. These service conditions correspond to a Hazard Class 2 - F environment as defined in AS1604.1.
